Gloucestershire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs - Investing in the Future of Farming
At Tyndale Vets, we're deeply invested in the future of Gloucestershire agriculture, and that's why we're committed to supporting the Gloucestershire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (GFYFC) in every way possible. We believe in empowering the next generation of farmers with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive.
Tyndale help the Gloucestershire Young Farmers in a variety of ways, sponsorship of the federation and most of the local individual clubs, attendance at rally days, and our most favourite, evenings at the practice! These are always great fun. We try to offer an insight into life as a farm vet, what we do behind the scenes as your farm vets and finally, something wildly fun to engage and entertain.
As part of our ongoing commitment, throughout out 2025 we're thrilled to offer GFYFC members exclusive access to specialized masterclass talks hosted by our expert team. These in-depth sessions will delve into key topics relevant to modern farming, providing a level of detail and understanding beyond the scope of regular club talks.
We understand that as young farmers progress in their careers, they require advanced knowledge and insights to tackle the evolving challenges of the industry. These masterclasses are designed to:
Expand Learning: Provide a platform for more detailed and focused learning on specific areas of interest.
Enhance Understanding: Develop a deeper comprehension of complex agricultural topics.
Support Senior Members: Offer opportunities for experienced young farmers to further their professional development.
We believe that by providing access to this specialized knowledge, we're helping to equip young farmers with the tools they need to succeed. We're proud to partner with GFYFC and play a role in shaping the future of Gloucestershire agriculture.

Standing Strong with Yellow Wellies
At Tyndale Vets, we're deeply committed to the well-being of our farming community, and that extends beyond animal health. That's why we're proud to support the Yellow Wellies campaign.
We understand that farming can be a challenging profession, both physically and mentally. The pressures of weather, market fluctuations, and long hours can take a toll. Yellow Wellies, through the Farm Safety Foundation, shines a light on the vital importance of mental and physical safety in agriculture.
We believe that a healthy farming community is a thriving farming community. By supporting Yellow Wellies, we're helping to:
Raise awareness: We're helping to break down the stigma surrounding mental health in agriculture and encourage open conversations.
Promote safety: We're supporting initiatives that aim to reduce accidents and injuries on farms.
Provide resources: We're helping to connect farmers with vital resources and support networks.
We recognize the resilience and dedication of our farming clients, and we want to ensure they have the support they need to thrive. By joining forces with Yellow Wellies, we're taking a step towards building a safer and healthier future for our agricultural community.
We encourage everyone to learn more about the Yellow Wellies campaign and join us in supporting this crucial cause. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of our farmers.

Macmillan
Every year we like to join the rest of the country and take part in the world’s biggest coffee morning. The staff get baking, and we host anyone who will join us in the reception area at the practice for coffee, cake and a chat. We are proud to donate to this because it is extremely close to our hearts. Back in 2006 we lost our wonderful receptionist Sue to Cancer. We know the pain this disease causes and we invite you to join us on the last Friday in September every year for our coffee morning to help us do whatever it takes for people living with cancer.
Amberley Cow Hunt
This annual event in the local Parish of Amberley is great fun. Wooden cows are dressed up to a theme (which changes yearly), and hidden on a trail through the village and over the common. Families get a lovely map and go hunting! Once you’ve found them all there is a jovial vintage tea party with freshly baked cakes the likes you’ve never seen! All proceeds go to Amberley Parochial Primary School. How could Tyndale not sponsor a cow and show our support!

Gloucester Grassland society
The Gloucestershire Grassland Society is a local branch of the British Grassland Society (BGS) that aims to help farmers use grassland and forage for profitability and environmental sustainability hosting regular meetings and events. Tyndale are proud to offer our support in any way we can. This currently takes the shape of annual sponsorship and offering our vets to host talks whenever the society will have us on any topic they request, within reason!
Neospora Campaign
We’ve recently undertaken a campaign on neospora. Neosporosis is a disease caused by the parasite Neospora caninum. It's a major cause of abortion in cattle, leading to significant economic losses for farmers. The parasite's life cycle involves dogs as a key host.
Dogs become infected by eating infected tissue (e.g., aborted foetuses). They then shed the parasite in their faeces, which can contaminate feed or pasture. Pregnant cows can ingest these oocysts, leading to infection of their unborn calves. Summer 2024 we tried to raise awareness by providing members of the public with free poo-bags and flyers explaining Neospora. We will be tackling this issue again in 2025 with free signs for any farmer who needs to display them on foot paths running though their farms to help raise awareness and encourage dog owners to pick up after their dogs.

Supporting Our Community at Chepstow, Usk, Berkeley & Moreton Show.

We believe that by supporting these shows, we're not just supporting an event; we're supporting the people who make our community thrive. We're proud to be a part of the Chepstow, Usk, Berkeley, and Moreton Shows, and we look forward to seeing you there!
We are there to:
Offer advice.

Enjoy a great community event.
Connect with you.
And crucially, recharge you with food and drink! So please stop by.
Ed's Tractor Run.
Sadly, on the 29th of April 2024 Edward Martin, a dedicated young farmer took his own life. As everyone within the farming community is aware, there is a major mental health crisis which needs to be addressed.
On the 1st September 2024, we attend Ed Tractor Run to prepare and hand out bacon sandwiches and hot drinks to all those taking part in the run which was held not only in his memory but to aid charities close to the families hear.
The event was a great success and raised a grand total of £21,839.58 for the chosen charities:

Supporting RABI, the Heart of Our Farming Community
We understand the unique challenges faced by those who work tirelessly to provide for us all. That's why we're proud to be strong supporters of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (RABI).
RABI provides vital support to farming people across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland who are facing hardship. They offer practical, financial, and emotional assistance, ensuring that no one in our farming community feels alone in times of crisis.
We believe in the crucial work RABI does, and we're committed to helping them make a difference. Recently, Tyndale Vets was delighted to sponsor both a local tractor run and a charity ball, both raising essential funds for RABI. These events were a fantastic opportunity to bring our community together, celebrate our shared values, and contribute to a cause that is close to our hearts.
We encourage everyone to learn more about RABI and support their invaluable work. Whether it's through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, every little bit helps.
