Emily qualified from The Royal Veterinary College in 2016 and spent her first 3 years in farm animal practice, covering the counties of Herts, Beds and Bucks. Having spent a lot of time with beef, sheep and alpacas, she enjoys the proactive side to farm vetting but also enjoys a calving (especially when there is a good outcome of course!)
Emily's veterinary interests are working with farmers and owners to improve animal health and welfare and improve business efficiency in particular: Dairy including mobility & foot trimming, mastitis, fertility, robotic milking and data analysis. Surgery including performing laparoscopic LDA surgery and Camelids.
Emily is a Mobility Mentor (qualified to deliver AHDB healthy feet programme), RoMS Mobility Scorer, BCVA Accredited Foot Health Trainer; able to run First Aid for Feet and Intermediate Foot Trimming course, AHDB Mastitis Control Plan Deliverer, Accredited TB Veterinary Advisor (BATVA) and TB advisory service (TBAS) advisor, BCVA accredited Johne’s Veterinary Advisor (BAJVA), NADIS instructor and registered to carry out Milksure courses.
Her interests outside of work include walking her two whippets Finn & Rhubarb, keeping fit and doing yoga, interior design and socialising with family and friends.
